Deals Can Wait. Niko Canāt.
ā by Jason Oppenheim
Iām used to moving fast.
Quick decisions. Packed days. One thing to the next.
But Nikoās not in a rush. He stops. He sniffs. He leads. I follow.
Thereās something grounding about that ā being yanked out of a work call because your dog saw a squirrel. Having to pause because he wonāt walk unless you take the same route he took yesterday.
Itās frustrating. And itās the best part of my day.
People assume I spend most of my time in offices or on set, but honestly? Some of the best conversations I have happen on a walk with Niko. Just the two of us, no noise.
He doesnāt care about listings or negotiations. He cares that I bring treats. That I stop for water. That I scratch under his chin the exact right way.
Heās the most consistent thing in my life ā and definitely the most stubborn.
Which, fair enough.
Everyday Dog gets it. Itās not about perfection. Itās about that very specific kind of love only dog owners understand ā the kind you walk through life with.
